Minisart® Air with chemically inert hydrophobic PTFE is suitable for venting as well as filtration of gases and oils with a pH of 3 - 12. Type 16596HNK with a pore size of 0.2 µm can be used for sterile filtration. It has an outlet with needle. Version HNK is individually packed and sterilized by ethylene oxide (EO).
Individually packed and sterile Minisart® Air syringe filters are optimal for immediate usage whenever sterile filtration or venting is needed. The low-binding PTFE membrane is the best option for leachable free filtration. Due to its hydrophobic nature the PTFE membrane functions as a water barrier and does not become wetted by aerosols. This keeps the hydrophobic venting filter permeable for gas or air! The housing of the filter is made of MBS (Methacrylate butadiene styrene) which has a limited compatibility with alcohols but is free of phthalates and passes the plastic class VI test. Housing and membrane are tightly connected which allows bidirectional use.
