Syringe filter unit containing several layers of Sartobind Membrane Adsorber modified with IDA for rapid purification of His-tagged proteins. Binding capacity of 7.5 mg protein per unit. Operated using a peristaltic pump. Sartobind® Membrane Adsorbers (MA) for affinity chromatography using metal chelate interaction are ready-to-use syringe filter type units. They are based on the patented Sartobind® membrane that displays a microporous structure with pore size of 0.45 µm. Iminodiacetic acid (IDA) as chelating functional group is bound covalently to the complete internal surface of the membrane, resulting in a separation medium of high binding capacity combined with very high flow rates. Binding of metal ions such as Ni2+ or Co2+ is very stable and allows many cycles of re-use without loss of binding capacity. Sartobind® MA IDA units for affinity chromatography are available with 75 cm² membrane area, corresponding to a static binding capacity of up to 7.5 mg of his-tagged proteins per unit.
Sartobind® MA IDA units are equipped with standard Luer Lock connectors and can be run with HPLC or FPLC systems or a pump. Due to their polysulfone housing, they are compatible with many solvents applied in chromatography and can be re-used > 100 times. Sartobind® MA IDA units are the ideal tool for rapid affinity purification of all kinds of proteins. Their membrane structure with large pore size allows separations ten times faster than with conventional columns using beaded media.
